Authority comes from the constitution
Every post exists because the constitution creates it. Powers, duties and limits are written down, and nothing outside them is binding on a member institution.
The provisional cabinet, the executive council, the standing committees and the district chapters of PEN KP. Every office on this page is held under the constitution of the association.
PEN KP is led by a provisional cabinet headed by the Provisional President and the Provisional General Secretary. The cabinet works with an Executive Council, six standing committees including the Finance Committee, and a district chapter in every district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. No office bearer holds personal authority. Every post derives its powers, duties and limits from the constitution of the association, and every holder is accountable to the general body of member institutions.
| Tier | What it does | Posts recorded |
|---|---|---|
| Provisional Cabinet | Day to day leadership, representation before government and regulatory bodies | 2 |
| Executive Council | Policy decisions, approval of budget, oversight of the cabinet | 1 |
| Standing Committees | Finance, legal, membership verification, discipline, standards and media | 6 committees |
| District Chapters | Local representation, coordination and first level grievance handling | To be announced |
The association runs on written law, not on personality. These four principles apply equally to the provisional president and to a district executive member.
Every post exists because the constitution creates it. Powers, duties and limits are written down, and nothing outside them is binding on a member institution.
Office bearers serve member institutions. They do not own the platform, cannot use it for personal benefit, and vacate the post at the end of the term.
The cabinet answers to the Executive Council, the council answers to the general body, and district chapters answer to both. Accounts and decisions are reported.
A member who believes an office bearer has acted outside the constitution can file a complaint. The Discipline Committee hears it under written procedure.
